Eweleaze Farm, Dorset

I’ve always loved camping. From the ripe old age of 16 when we used to set up camp in Eskdale, banging out the latest rave tunes from our trusty battery operated CD player, telling silly ghost stories around the camp fire and giggling ourselves to sleep as we recalled anecdotes from the day. I’ve always loved the sense of freedom camping provides. Just friends, fresh air- and in our case generally a whole lot of booze!! When my friend Anna suggested taking the babies on a camping holiday to Dorset, I jumped at the chance. We’re yet to take Ettie away on her first family holiday and with the house still chugging away slowly, we’re not sure when this will be so we were more than happy to plan a…

One step closer to Adulthood {Joining the National Trust}

After spending upwards of £70 on days out over the last couple of weeks, we finally made the commitment towards real adulting this weekend and purchased our National Trust memberships! It’s something we’ve been aware of for a while … you know, that we were maybe nearing ‘that age’ but we fought it, gripping onto the clutches of youth with our fingernails and avoiding all such places while we tried to fit in as many trips to the beach as possible! But actually, now that we’ve made the commitment, I’m quite excited about it! We pay £9 a month which is cheap as chips really and you get a little guide book and map listing all the places which you’re now free to explore!! Not only is it worth it…

RevitaLash is it worth the Pricetag? | Review

  I’m reaching out today to all of the follically challenged in the land. i.e. those who struggle to grow hair past a certain length!! I too am one of those people, be it arm hair, leg hair, the hair on my head and of course eyelashes! Once those follicles reach a certain length, they just sort of give up the ghost, keel over and die!! Come on hair you can do better than that!! Sometime this is a blessing of course, my waxing bill over the years has been significantly lower than others…. however for the hair that really matters – you know the stuff people see on a daily basis!! im basically left with stumps!! Stumpy eyelashes and stumpy mid length hair!! To make matters worse, Stu, his…

A day out at Wakehurst Place, Sussex

Cricket was called off on Sunday (Mini Fist pump to me!!) 🙋🏼 So we had an unexpected family day. I was a little bit gutted for Stu because we had actually agreed to go and watch, but it was the weekend and it was sunny and we NEVER get to see him on sunny weekends so I got over it pretty quickly! As with the majority of our plans when cricket gets rained off , I had about 20 seconds to come up with an alternative plan which would keep the whole family entertained (including my Mum who was down for the week), before we opted for our usual Sunday fail safe of having a wander along the seafront before grabbing some food. Not that there’s anything wrong with this…

Mamas Meeting up again: This time to discuss Body Positivity

I recently published a post about the Mamas Meet Up event which I attended back in June, hosted by the lovely sister duo Natalie Mcilveen and Laura Swann from MumstheWord.online. The event was the first of the Mamas Meet Ups to be held in Brighton and created a real buzz amongst the Mummy community. The idea behind the Meets Ups is to provide an opportunity for like-minded Mums from the local area to get together over coffee and have a natter, before hearing from an inspirational guest speaker from around UK. The event in June included a talk and book signing by the lovely Clemmie Hooper (of @Mother_of_Daughters fame) and was a real success. I’m happy to report that the duo are back again in September for their second Mamas Meet…

Letters to Ettie {13 months}

To my dearest little Ettie!!  13 months, how did that happen?? It seems like only a minute ago since we placing your arms gently into your tiny babygrow at the hospital, scared we’d somehow break you before loading you ever so carefully into the car seat ready to take you home. You were so tiny then. We were unbelievably excited about your arrival but couldn’t in our wildest dreams have imagined how happy you’d make us feel in the months to come! And now you’re 1 – in fact not just 1, you’re 1 and one whole month! Such a beautiful, happy, loving, funny and caring little girl. Always giving us kisses and greeting us with the greatest of hugs if we’ve been to work for the day. Mummy went…

Lovely Little Aurelia 💕 | Review

I attended an event recently and was lucky enough to receive this beautiful Little Aurelia top to toe body lotion in one of the Goodie Bags. I was so impressed with the product that I wanted to write a little post about it to share it with you, as I think its a brand worth talking about. The first thing which struck me, was how beautiful the packaging is. The colours and detail on the illustrations, together with the gold edging around the box make it pretty enough to be on display in my little girls room (OK so its not exactly an ornament but it sits on her book case for the time being as it seems to pretty to hide away in a cupboard!). Bio-Organic & British Made…

Mums The Word | Mamas Meet Up with Clemmie Hooper a.k.a MOD

Being a mum on maternity leave can be an exciting, but also isolating experience at times – I mean there are only so many times you can clean tomato off the kitchen walls before losing a few of your marbles!! Sister duo Natalie Mcilveen and Laura Swann from MumstheWord.online recognise this and have begun an exciting new venture, hosting fun and inspiring Meet Ups for Mamas in the Brighton and Tunbridge Wells areas. The idea behind the ‘Mamas Meet Ups’ is to provide an opportunity for like-minded Mamas to get together and hear from inspiring guest speakers from around the UK. Events will be held to discuss everything from style, health, well-being and even beginning a new career. The best think about the Meet Ups, is that they are all totally…
