I woke up this morning with an email from WordPress congratulating me on my three month blogging anniversary! Whilst I couldn’t believe it had been that long, sitting back and thinking about it, I cant believe its only been three months either! I started my blog on a whim because a I wanted to record the fun times I was having with my daughter, but now it’s something I work on almost every day. My first blog post was short and a little abrupt, Ive linked to it for reference, but there really isn’t much to see! I know I’ve still got a long way to go, but when I think how far I’ve come over the past 92 days, I thought now would be a good time to sit…

It seems a bit ridiculous sharing this post with you on such a wet and miserable Monday. But writing it has taken me away from the grey clouds and dark skies sitting ominously outside my window so hopefully it can do the same for you! A few weeks ago we took Ettie on a day trip to Camber Sands near Rye in East Sussex.  I wanted her to have another opportunity to splash around in the sea because she’s been a little wary of it in the past! She likes splashing around in paddling pools and buckets of water but isn’t overly keen on anything that moves i.e. water out of a tap, the shower and of course the moving sea.  The first time I took her down to the…

Last week I was very kindly nominated for the Liebster Awards by the very lovely Sarah from Simply Sarah Ellen. Seriously go and check out her blog, it is beautiful!! Sarah is a lifestyle blogger and intends to blog about beauty and fashion in the future. Before I get started I thought I’d explain a little about what the Leibster Award actually entails. As I newbie I wasn’t 100% sure myself, but a quick Google search and I was pointed in the direction The Global Aussie which contained all of the information I needed. The Leibster Award is an annual award designed to give exposure to new bloggers. Each nominee is asked to answer 11 questions by their fellow blogger and then create 11 new questions for their 11 nominees. All…

I’ve always loved summer. I genuinely find it difficult not to get excited things when the sun is shining. I eat less, shop more, talk more and am an all round better person when the temperature is over 18 degrees, but without a shadow of a doubt this summer has been one of my favourites summers of all time. It’s been the first year we’ve been able to fully enjoy the sunshine with Ettie as she was a little too tiny last year and not too keen on the heat. We’ve had so many adventures in the UK and discovered so many beautiful places that its made me realise you don’t need to venture very at all to have an amazing time, and England is such a beautiful country. I…

To my wonderful little Arrietty You’re 14 months old now and I can’t quite believe it! The 23rd was upon us without a moment’s notice and all of a sudden you’re not a baby anymore, but a cheeky little independent person with your own personality and ideas! You’ve started showing an interest in clothes and often pull things out of your draws asking us to dress you. After initially loving your first pair of shoes, I think you’ve decided you liked your Jelly shoes more because you keep bringing them to us even though they don’t fit you anymore. You also love your little Denim jacket and stand with a big grin on your face when we put it on you. Such a cool little dude! One of your favourite…

I think its still going to be a while before I can share a grand unveiling of any of the finished rooms in this house, so as a little appetiser, I thought I’d show you one of the rooms we made over in our previous flat. I’ll start with the living room as I think it was perhaps the biggest transformation and ended up being one of my favourite rooms! You can see the the transformation from start to finish below, but I’ll talk you through the process as we move on.. Our first home was a cosy little flat in a little village called Ditchling. It was built in the 1950’s and was in need of some serious modernisation. The flat had its own garden over looking the South Downs…
