Letters to Ettie {18-19 Months}

To my beautiful daughter I held off writing your 18 month letter because I was feeling so poorly,  I couldn’t really think of anything to say that I hadn’t already said – other than to say how much I absolutely love you with my whole entire heart. Honestly every time you reach up to me and ask me for a cuddle, or nestle your little face close into mine for a snuggle, I feel like my heart could burst into a million pieces. I know people talk about the ‘joys of motherhood’ but no one could have prepared me for the way you can melt away all the pressures of the day with a little smile or a giant hug. I’m sure you’ll read these letters someday when you’re all…

Spring Jewellery Essentials: Orelia

Good afternoon everyone! You may have seen my Instagram stories over the weekend where I was getting a little bit giddy with a package I received from Orelia Jewellery. Following the launch of their new spring / summer collection it contained four items for me to try and I was absolutely over the moon with every single one of them. Adding in a bit of a disclaimer here, I am a real jewellery lover! I love the way a certain piece can totally transform an outfit. To me jewellery falls into one of two categories. It has to be either something dainty and delicate that can be worn every day, or something which is more of a bold statement than can turn a simple outfit such as jeans and a T-Shirt…

The Mummy Juggle: Justine from Lil Jem and BabyE

Hello and welcome back to the Mummy Juggle Series for 2018. I started this series back in October 2017 as I was struggling adjusting being back at work full-time and I thought it would be a useful way for other mums to share their stories to help raise awareness that its OK to feel a little stressed sometimes, and that whatever impression we may give off on the outside, being a working Mum is bl**dy hard sometimes and its OK to admit that! In that time we’ve heard from two amazing mothers who are making the work/life balance work for them and successfully building two fabulous blogs. Each of them admitted that whilst it is hard and sacrifices do have to be made, if you are organised and motivated then…

Why I’m having a Meat Free January

A few of you may have seen my Instagram stories recently where I’ve been talking about trailing a ‘Meat Free January’. Don’t worry this isn’t a national movement that you’ve somehow missed out on*, like Stoptober or Movember (*although I have discovered Vegananuary since writing this). Being Vegetarian for a month is just something I’ve been meaning to trial for a long time, so jumping on the tried and tested ‘new year, new me’ bandwagon I’m using January as an excuse to do it. Buy whyyyyyy I hear so many of you ask? My husband is mortified and my Dad dumbfounded? Why would you choose to give up precious burgers and steaks when you’ve always been such a big meat eater all your life?? I must admit I do understand…

Magic Monthly Squares December 2018

Magic Monthly Squares is a new monthly hashtag series for Instagram where participants identify their top five Instagram from the previous month using the hashtag #MagicMonthlySquares. I’ve been running this for a few months now and have found that doing a monthly roundup is a really fun thing to do. If you’re a blogger and choose to make you’re selection into a blog post (like me) a round up is a great way to provide a little insight to the thinking behind your squares. Often a lot of thought goes into planning your Instagram feed and sometimes the stories behind the photos are just as interesting as the captions! If you’re not a blogger but still want to look back over the previous months photos, then a round up is…

Introducing Bookabees: A lovely new Book Club for Kids

Shortly before Christmas I was introduced to Bookabees a lovely new book club for children and asked to try out one of their monthly subscription packages. Similar to a library, the idea behind Bookabees is that your child can enjoy 1, 3 or 5 new books each month before returning them to be replaced by more beautiful books. However better than a library, the Bookabees books are delivered directly to your door in a fabulous personalized pack containing all sorts of other goodies such as stickers and interactive activities to grab your child’s attention. All books are handpicked by educational experts based on your child’s age, reading stage and interests and there’s an option to specifically select books which you think your child will enjoy if you so wish. At the end of…

Birthday Break to Stockholm | Part One

Apologies I’ve been a little late sharing this one with you. I couldn’t wait to put pen to paper at first and have had a half written blog post sitting in my drafts for weeks, but alas life just got in the way and I have’t had the time to finish it off! Until now!! (Yey for Christmas!!) :o) About a month we took a little trip to Stockholm to celebrate my birthday and we had the loveliest of times. Jumping on a plane and navigating my way around a new destination has always been my absolute favourite things to do, but our travelling adventures have taken a bit of a back seat since our little Miss came along and the pins on our travel map haven’t been multiplying as quickly…
